Little’s Hub Play Café
Chesterfield
Little’s Hub Play Café is a family run business, based in the Gladstone Buildings, Clay Cross, where you can relax, meet new friends and your little ones can have lots of fun and learn new skills. We are passionate about creating a relaxed, fun and friendly atmosphere for expectant families and families with young children. Our aim is to provide a welcome and supportive space where you are able to take some time for your own mental wellbeing as well as spending quality time with your little ones’.
The sessions on offer at Little’s Hub are great for socialisation of both adults and children, they are relaxed and friendly were we celebrate little milestones, empathise with the occasional meltdown (we’ve all been there!) and more than happy to lend a hand especially to those who come along with more than one little one!
We are open Monday – Friday during the week (please check the monthly timetable for opening times as this will vary throughout the year).
We have an outdoor sheltered area, with mud kitchen and water play, sensory room and main room with small baby area, role play area and main class area.
Our hub is now located at The Hub S45, Clay Cross, with local bus routes and parking available.

Beck Allison
Hi, I’m Beck – owner and founder of Little’s Hub. I am married with 2 beautiful, yet slightly bonkers children and a crazy cockapoo!
During the pandemic, I felt there was a need for a family hub which offered a range of classes, drop in’s and general support for families. It is estimated that around 20 per cent of new or expectant mothers suffer from mental illness (I included), that almost doubled following covid-19 and going forward it is so important, not only for our little one’s but for adults to come and socialise and look after our wellbeing… and so Little’s Hub was created!
I have worked with young children for a number of years; I graduated with a BA Hons in Primary Education from Sheffield Hallam University in 2012 and became a primary school teacher, working mostly in the Early Years. I had my daughter in 2016 and during my maternity leave, we found Moo Music and were hooked!
I decided to leave teaching the following year, just after I had my son in 2017, and bought a licence to become a ‘Moo Music Farmer’ in Chesterfield. I am passionate about bringing fun and excitement to my classes and music and learning through play are such an important part of a child’s development. It was the best decision I have made but also extremely difficult at times juggling a new business around a young family.
During lockdown, I rekindled my love for fitness as well as discovering relaxation techniques and the benefits of essential oils – particularly in supporting my own mental health during such a difficult time. I also became a baby massage, baby yoga and toddler yoga instructor and studied a level 2 in understanding children’s and young people’s mental health. In 2022 I completed my paediatric first aid training as well as becoming a tummy time instructor. And most recently, I am a trained and fully qualified twin baby massage instructor – empowering twin parents to massage their babies, both at the same time!
I want to provide a safe and welcoming space for people to come and feel supported as well as embrace parenthood, with the opportunity to meet new friends and learn some new skills! So please don’t worry about what the class you’re coming for might be like, feel like you can’t attend on your own or worry about where to park or where you can leave the pram – just drop me a message about any concerns and I will be more than happy to help.

Mel Gillett
Hi there! I’m Mel, Beck’s aunt, and I joined Little’s Hub in September this year.
After spending 25 years in retail and then becoming self-employed as a PA nine years ago, this exciting opportunity to work with Beck led me to leave that line of work behind. At Little’s Hub, you’ll find me running the café side of the business, making sure Beck gets enough breaks, and keeping her fueled with plenty of coffee throughout the day!
In addition to my role at Little’s Hub, I am happily married and have a 16-year-old son, as well as a beloved 5-year-old Border Collie named Bentley.

Hi, I’m Shar! I joined the team in April this year!
I previously worked at an Early Years nursery and before that I was a childminding assistant in an Early Years setting. Alongside this, I teach fitness classes and group training sessions in various gyms around Chesterfield. I also teach kids fitness classes where mums and dads join in too!
I am a very bubbly, enthusiastic person! One of my main passions in life is to promote wellness, positive mindsets and bring people together and try and create a support network for friends and like minded parents and Little’s Hub is the PERFECT place for that!
I look forward to singing, dancing, MOOOving and More!

Here a just some of the lovely comments that people have said about our Hub.
My 4 year old daughter attended holiday club at Little’s Hub for the first time this week and it was a great experience! She came home full of the wonderful fun time she’d had. We’ve known Beck for years from her fantastic Moo Music classes and I felt very comfortable leaving my daughter in Beck and Kami’s care knowing she would be well looked after and entertained. We will definitely be coming back for holiday clubs in the future. We have also enjoyed the playdough workshop and Twinkle Moo, as well as the Summer & Halloween Moo Music specials here. Sessions are always really well planned and thought out with lots of lovely touches. Thoroughly recommend Little’s Hub! X
